GYMNASTICS: GymfestINverness
Scottish Gymnastics and Inverness Gymnastics Club are delighted to announce that Gymfest is returning to Inverness after a break of almost 7 years.

Gymfest is a gymnastics display extravaganza that caters for upwards of 1,000 gymnasts. It is a non-competitive but professional standard display event run with a primary goal of keeping children/adults active and promoting recreational gymnastics throughout Scotland/UK.

2 September
ATHLETICS: The Great Scottish Run
The 2007 freshnlo Great Scottish Run will take place on Sunday September 2nd, with the 10k starting at 9am and the Half Marathon at 10am.

Last year a record breaking 20,753 runners entered and this year looks set to be even busier. The race takes runners past some of the city’s most famous attractions, and features the hugely popular run over the Kingston Bridge, before finishing in Glasgow Green.

You can enter online or get more information now by visiting www.runglasgow.org, as well as getting tips on training, equipment and nutrition so that you have a great race across the city. And don't forget - the last entry date for the 2007 freshnlo Great Scottish Run is August 17th!

MOUNTAIN BIKING: UCI Mountain Biking Championships, Fort William
In September 2007 the global mountain biking community will be focused on Fort William, a small town that has become a byword for great mountain biking, fantastic fans and the best competitions in the world.

CYCLING: Tour of Britain, various venues
The 2007 Tour of Britain will end on Saturday 15 September in Glasgow, where the 2006 race began.

The riders will set off from Dumfries and head through the southern uplands before dropping down into East Kilbride and into Glasgow City Centre, providing a thrilling finish that all the family will love to see

GOLF: De Vere Ladies Scottish Open
Next year the Ladies' Scottish Open will return to the Ladies' European Tour for the first time in 11 years. The €200, 000 event will be hosted on the newly developed Carrick course. The course proves to be a challenging but fair test of golf with outstanding views across Loch Lomond National Park, the Luss Hills and Ben Lomond.

CULTURE: Loopallu Festival, Ullapool
