GAMES VENUES BROUGHT TO LIFE

Glasgow's 2014 Commonwealth Games bid is taking shape. Anyone who has been to the City will know many of the iconic sporting venues we plan to use in 2014. As a special exclusive, Inside Track readers are among the first people to steal a sneak preview of new pictures showing how the venues will look in Games mode.

Computer-generated images of the proposed new mountain bike track at Cathkin Braes, squash at Scotstoun and boxing at the SECC paint a vibrant picture of the spectacle that would be a Glasgow Games.

Cathkin Braes in the south of the city would be home to a new state-of-the-art facility for mountain biking

The seventeen drawings, one for each of the sports in Glasgow's programme, wonderfully portray Scotland's vision for the 20th Commonwealth Games. The futuristic images form a key part of the Candidate City File that will be handed over to the Commonwealth Games Federation in London on the 9th May.

Boxing enthusiasts will be knocked out by the set-up at the SECC during Glasgow2014

Speaking about the new images Derek Casey, Glasgow 2014 Bid Director, said; "We are delighted with these new images. As you can see they will really add that wow factor to our bid. They brilliantly bring to life how great an occasion hosting the Games would be for athletes, spectators and the people of Scotland."

With 70 percent of the venues already in place and work due to start on many of the others, these pictures capture Glasgow 2014's imagination and move things a stage forward, showing what the City has planned for a world-class event that millions of people will want to watch.

Over 1.7 million people have already dreamt about the amazing experience Glasgow 2014 promises to be, and liked what they saw. With this level of backing these state-of-the-art venues will be bursting at the seams. Just think how loud the roar of a Scottish crowd will be – enough to lift the roof on these new venues.
