Proving there are no limits to backing the Bid for Glasgow to host the Commonwealth Games in 2014, outreach worker Lesley Shaw took to the skies this weekend and jumped from 10,000 feet over the Scottish countryside with members
of the Golden Lions, the Scottish Infantry Parachute Display Team.

Lesley performed a tandem jump with one of the highly trained soldiers from the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Each member of the Golden Lions team has to pass a rigorous selection process, followed by a year of intensive training
before joining the team, so Lesley was in very safe hands for her novice attempt at skydiving.

Participating in sport is a great way to show support for Scotland to host the Games in 2014, and skydiving is no exception.
Lesley said: "Although I was scared in the tiny plane as we climbed up several thousand feet, the Golden Lions team were fantastic. It was so exhilarating and exciting - as soon as I landed the first thing I asked was if I could do it again!"

The Golden Lions have a giant 2014 flag which they use to great effect at major sporting events around Scotland, the flag unfurling from parachutists as they decend.
