EXCITEMENT RISING AS DECISION DAY APPROACHES

The Glasgow 2014 Bid Team in Sri Lanka is getting ready for the
decision day vote on Friday 9th November which will decide if the city
is to host the Games in 2014. On Thursday the First Minister Alex
Salmond and Glasgow City COuncil Leader Steven Purcell met with
delegates from Abuja, Nigeria, the other candidate city and members of
the Commonwealth Games Federation to give a press conference about the
upcoming vote.

The First Minister said the team are still working hard to secure
every vote that could deliver the Commonwealth Games for Scotland.

It was also revealed that decathlon medallist Jamie Quarry will be
part of the final presentation team on Friday 9th November.

Jamie will join Commonwealth Games Council for Scotland chair Louise
Martin, the First Minister and the Glasgow City Council Leader to
deliver a half hour presentation about the plan to host the Games in
Glasgow and what it would mean for the city.
