At Tollcross Park Leisure Centre in Glasgow's East End there was huge excitement on decision day November 9, with a huge crowd of over 1,900 people attending the centre for a day of swimming, sports activities, and of course watching the decision live from Sri Lanka on the poolside big screen while jumping and clapping in the water.

Swimmers from the  City of Glasgow Swim Team were on hand to give their support for the winning announcement by watching from the pool.

The day splashed off at Tollcross with loads of activities for young and old alike, with come-and-try-sessions as well as hundreds of local schoolchildren enjoying the day.

Tollcross will host swimming events during the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with the contruction of a new pool, in addition to their already outstanding facilities.

November 9 was a day that no-one in Glasgow will forget.
