Clydesdale Bank has signed up three athletes to work with to engage the whole of Scotland in the bid.
• Kirsty Balfour - World 200m breaststroke silver medalist
• Yvonne Murray - Commonwealth 10,000m champion
• Andrew Lindsay - double Paralympic swimming champion

Kirsty Balfour - Swimmer

Kirsty competed at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004, has scooped a Silver Medal and a Bronze Medal for Scotland at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne

Kirsty broke the Scottish Junior record in the 200m Breaststroke in 2000 and hasn't looked back. As well as swimming Kirsty enjoys Triathlon events - her dad represented GB in triathlons and won the World Triathlete Championships in 2004. Kirsty describes herself as determined to succeed in her sport.
Yvonne Murray – Mooney MBE MA
Born: Musselburgh, Scotland

Yvonne currently holds the Scottish Records for 1,500m, 2,000m, 3,000m, 5,000m and the Commonwealth Record for 2,000m.
Yvonne was awarded the MBE in 1990
BBC Scotland Sports Personality of the year in 1994.

First Scottish woman to win an Olympic track medal and First British woman to win a European track medal in 21 years.
Yvonne is married with a 6 year old daughter and works as a PR Consultant for The Newton Consultancy, based in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire.
Yvonne is still actively involved in sport and has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Scottish Sports Association and is an ambassador for the 2014 Commonwealth Games Bid in Glasgow.

Andrew won Gold at the Paralympic World Cup, 2006, in the 100m Backstroke and 4 x 50m Freestyle competitions. At the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens he took Gold in the 100m Backstroke, repeating the success he found at the 2000 Paralympic Games in Sydney where he also took Gold for the 100m Backstroke.
