Ian Emmerson OBE

Ian represents the Commonwealth Games Federation on the Glasgow 2014 Board.

Ian was Vice Chair, then Chair of Commonwealth Games England from 1994-2007. He continues to serve as Regional Vice President (Europe) of the Commonwealth Games Federation, and has attended Games in Edinburgh (1970 and 1986), Auckland (1990), Kuala Lumpur (1998), Manchester (2002) and Melbourne (2006).

Ian was President of the British Cycling Federation from 1985 to 1995 and played a major role in the provision of the successful Manchester Velodrome and British Cycling’s HQ within it. Ian was Vice President of the Union Cycliste International (UCI) from 1994 to 1997 and on its executive board for eight years. He was awarded the OBE for services to sport in 1994.
