Human Resources Advisor

Job Summary
The HR Advisor will provide timely and professional HR Services
for the Glasgow 2014 Organising Committee for the Commonwealth
Games, focusing on employee relations, internal communications,
employee engagement, training and development, compensation and
benefits and policies and procedures. In addition, the HR Advisor
will support the HR Manager with relevant documentation and process
development.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Advisor will be responsible
for the following:
• Provide specific advice and guidance and counsel managers
and employees on a variety of HR issues, including HR policies,
legislation, changing terms and conditions, benefits, grievances,
disciplinary issues, absence and performance issues, and
terminations.
• Roll out specific HR policies as required by changing
legislation or new business issues to enable the OC to proactively
respond to changes while setting appropriate company standards.
• Participate in job-evaluations and work with line managers
when required to ensure role profiles are current, appropriate and
in line with Functional areas and business needs.
• Update staff handbook with agreed policy changes in line with
legislation.
• Identify, make recommendations and resolve any compensation
and benefits issues with line managers, e.g. in recruitment,
promotions/re-grades, in accordance with the appropriate
policies.
• In close consultation with the HR Manager develop, and
implement the Employee Engagement and Internal communications
initiatives.
•Provide input to Training & Development initiatives,
including the provision of T&D to Line Managers.
• Provide timely HR administration support, including the
provision of data when required for determining future budgets,
maintenance of personnel files and attendance sheets and Payroll
assistance as required.
• Provide timely recruitment support by ensuring all new
recruits have all relevant induction information before commencing
employment.
Person Specification
Key skills, experience and competencies required:
• Candidates must have strong HR Generalist and Employee
Relations experience, ideally CIPD qualified.
• Proven experience with relevant technology, including HRIS
systems and MS Office.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary organisation and
to build active, cooperative partnerships with internal and
external stakeholders.
• High attention to detail, ensuring documentation is accurate
and produced in a timely manner.
