IT Support Officer

Job Summary
This role will provide timely and efficient information
technology services and support to the Glasgow 2014 headquarter
community to ensure that the Technology Division is able to fulfill
it’s objective of delivering and operating high quality,
integrated, cost effective and reliable IT solutions necessary to
facilitate the staging of the XXth Commonwealth Games.
Main Responsibilities
Reporting to the ITS Service Delivery Coordinator, this position
will be responsible for:
• Providing 1st and 2nd line support and ongoing maintenance of
office hardware and software within agreed service levels
• User and group administration within Microsoft Active
Directory
• Network infrastructure administration
• Maintenance of asset registers of office technology equipment
and software licenses
• Purchasing of consumables and other equipment and services in
line with defined procurement processes
• Delivery of projects and services against agreed schedules and
milestones
• Contribution and preparation of content development and
maintenance for the G2014 intranet
Person Specification
Key skills, experience and competencies
required:
• Candidates must have a proven track record in desktop support
of hardware and software, including familiarity with the
administration of Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 products.
• Experience in the administration and maintenance of Microsoft
server technologies, Active Directory, Blackberry and IP Telephony
solutions are also pre-requisites.
• Ideally candidates will possess relevant Microsoft or industry
certification.
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary organisation and
to build active, cooperative partnerships with internal and
external stakeholders.
• Strong focus on service delivery, and an ability to prioritise
a demanding workload within a dynamic and evolving environment.
