Former 400m athlete and Commonwealth Games silver medallist for
Scotland, Allison Curbishley, said: “The Commonwealth Games have a
special place in my heart and I’ll never forget the feeling of
crossing the finish line at the 1998 Games in Kuala Lumpar knowing
I had just won a silver medal for Scotland. I am really looking
forward to Glasgow2014 and have no doubt the whole country will get
behind the event and show why Scottish supporters are among the
best in world. I think ‘Sport Your Trainers’ is a great way to
encourage all of Scotland to engage with the Games and I urge
everyone to join me in wearing their trainers on Monday 14th
March.”
