Kate Randall

Kate Randall was appointed in early February 2009 as Director of Family Services for Glasgow 2014. She leads the Handover project team and is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the Flag Handover Ceremony.

She is also responsible for developing relationships between the Organising Committee and the 71 member associations (CGAs) within the Commonwealth Games Federation. She will be responsible for ensuring that all necessary services and equipment are provided to the teams from each association, so that the athletes and team management can perform at their best. In addition she will ensure early communication is established and maintained with each CGA, and she will work with the CGAs in respect of broadcasting the Games in each of the nations and territories of the Commonwealth.
Kate's most recent role was as an Account Director with Sportsworld Group, based in Beijing, where she acted as client lead for China Mobile Communications Company – a sponsor of the Beijing Olympic Games. In previous roles she has been the international relations officer for the Halifax 2014 Commonwealth Games bid team, a regional manager for the family services team in the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games and Executive Assistant to the Secretary General of the Australian Olympic Committee.
