Travelling via Ferry

Stenaline runs up to six ferry services between Cairnryan and Belfast every day and the approximate crossing time is two hours and 15 minutes. Travel from Cairnryan to Glasgow is provided by Scottish Citylink or a shuttle bus can take passengers to Stranraer railway station which offers an hourly service to Ayr.

P&O provides services to Northern Ireland from two western Scotland locations. From Cairnryan to Larne there are nine daily return services and the approximate crossing time is two hours. As above there are bus services between Glasgow and Stranraer for rail links to Ayr. During the Games, P&O Ferries will also run a service from Troon to Larne twice a day each way with an approximate journey time of two hours and 15 minutes. There are train services to Glasgow from Troon station, with up to four services an hour.
