The local authority leader, lord provost and a veteran Labour councillor will coordinate Glasgow's political approach to the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Leader Steven Purcell, Lord Provost Bob Winter and council member Archie Graham, will be formally appointed once approval is granted tomorrow.

PRIMARY schools across Scotland were today urged to let pupils watch the result of Glasgow's 2014 Commonwealth Games bid live in their classrooms. First Minister Alex Salmond is to write to headteachers and ask them to let kids see the final decision live on TV next month.
