Athlete Advisor selected for London 2012

Susan Egelstaff, a member of the Glasgow 2014 Athletes' Advisory Committee, has been named on Team GB for the London 2012 Olympics. Egelstaff will represent her country alongside world silver medalist and fellow Glaswegian Imogen Bankier, who will compete in the mixed doubles competition at the London 2012 Olympics.

This is the first time in history two Scots have been selected to represent Team GB in badminton at an Olympic Games.

Glasgow 2014 Chief Executive David Grevemberg said:

“Our huge congratulations to Susan on her achievements in qualifying for the London 2012 Olympics. As a member of the Athletes' Advisory Committee, Susan plays a crucial role in our athlete-centred, sport-focused vision at Glasgow 2014.

“We wish both Susan and Imogen all the very best of success for their endeavours in London and we look forward to following their journeys in the lead up to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.”
