Glasgow 2014 today (Thursday October 17) revealed Sports Technology as the Official Provider of Large Video Screens & Audio Services for the UK’s next big sporting event.
Sports Technology joins the Glasgow 2014 Sponsor Family and will be responsible for the supply, installation and operational support of large video display screens and public address & audio systems across many of the Games competition venues.
The company’s products will also feature in key non-competition venues including the Athletes’ Village.
The Sports Technology team brings extensive experience to the delivery of the aforementioned audio visual services required to host an event of the size and scale of the Commonwealth Games, having successfully provided equipment to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The firm and partners has also supplied the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games and will be providing services to the Sochi 2014 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games as well as the regular support it provides to the Wimbledon Championships, UK athletics and Formula One Grand Prix.
Away from sport, the firm is also responsible for the iconic visual backdrops in the studio for the hit BBC television show The Voice and numerous international touring projects including Rod Stewart's sell-out live performances at the newly-opened SSE Hydro.
For Glasgow 2014, Sports Technology will develop audio visual systems in each venue to provide levels of service suitable for a world-class multi-sports event.

1. The Commonwealth Games is an international, multi-sport event involving 70 teams of athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. The event was first held in 1930 and takes place every four years. Glasgow 2014 will be the 20th Commonwealth Games and will be held from 23 July to 3 August. It will feature 17 sports in 11 days of competition with 261 medal events on show. The Games will play host to 4500 athletes and sell 1,000,000 tickets with the event aided by an army of up to 15,000 local volunteers.
