Clyde-sider of the week - Daniela Leonardi
Feature

What’s your name and where are you from?

My name’s Daniela and I’m from Italy. I was drawn to Scotland a long time ago because of the spectacular scenery… So I moved to Largs in Ayrshire!

Are people in Largs excited about Glasgow 2014?

Most definitely – no doubt about it.

What Clyde-sider role have you been offered?

I’ll be a member of the Arrivals and Departures Team.

Where will you be based?

Glasgow International Airport (GLA).

What are you most looking forward to about your role?

The challenge, the fun, the experience and atmosphere of the Games, being part of the team that will bring this event to a fantastic city and being able to say ‘I took part’.

Why did you want to be a Clyde-sider in the first place?

To be a part of something special and feel a bit more ‘Scottish’.

Have you visited Glasgow before? If so what’s your favourite thing about the city?

Glasgow is a beautiful vibrant city. My favourite places are The Lighthouse, Scotland’s Centre for Design and Architecture, and the Necropolis – the fascinating Victorian garden cemetery adjacent to Glasgow Cathedral.

If you won a Gold medal, what would your celebration song be?

Call of the Champions.

Can you sum up what you think Glasgow 2014 will be like in three words?

Exciting, amazing, unforgettable.
