What’s your name and where are you from?
I'm Kieran Buxton, and I'm from Inverurie.
Are people in Inverurie excited about Glasgow 2014?
Of course. I think the honour of hosting such a massive event as the Commonwealth Games brings excitement and anticipation with it, especially off the back of such a successful home Olympics which had everyone talking.
What Clyde-sider role have you been offered?
I've been offered the role of Photo Team Member.
Where will you be based?
SSC Scotstoun Sports Campus.
What are you most looking forward to about your role?
I'm looking forward to being involved in the Games in every way! It will be a great experience helping to co-ordinate the delivery of media to the world about what is going on in Glasgow and to be at the venues where history will potentially be made.
Why did you want to be a Clyde-sider in the first place?
Throughout my time at school I've always been very interested and influenced by sports. I've also been involved in coaching and volunteering in sport in my local community for a number of years as a Young Ambassador. I believe it is so important to be a role model and try to get as many young people as possible involved in sport for the benefit of their health and wellbeing. I felt that my interest coupled with the fact that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be involved in something that will create a sporting legacy for years to come.
Have you visited Glasgow before?
I've visited Glasgow a number of times, notably for the volunteer interview. Unfortunately most of my visits have been brief, but as with any city I visit, I just like to take in all the great landmarks and atmosphere by walking around the city.
If you won a Gold medal, what would your celebration song be?
Beautiful Day by U2.
Can you sum up what you think Glasgow 2014 will be like in three words?
An incredible experience.
