Clyde-sider of the Week – Melissa Clyde

Clyde-sider of the Week Melissa Clyde

What’s your name and where are you from?

I'm Melissa Clyde and I'm from Glasgow.

Are people in Glasgow excited about Glasgow 2014?

We are the Host City, so I hope so! Yeah, everyone seems to be very proud and I believe the Games will show off how amazing Glasgow is!

What Clyde-sider role have you been offered?

I've been offered a Team Member Role in Spectator Services.

Where will you be based?

The Barry Buddon Shooting Centre in Carnoustie.

What are you most looking forward to about your role?

The chance to meet lots of people and be a part of something that only comes around once in a lifetime.

Why did you want to be a Clyde-sider in the first place?

When I was younger, I thought I'd be competing in the Commonwealth Games in swimming, but that didn't end up happening. Then I saw how happy all the volunteers at London 2012 looked and I thought, 'I'll do that at Glasgow 2014!' and here I am!

What’s your favourite thing about Glasgow?

I live in Glasgow, so there are so many things I love about the city. The people, the beautiful buildings, but my favourite things are the museums like Kelvingrove.

If you won a Gold medal, what would your celebration song be?

Probably 'Hall of Fame' by The Script.

Can you sum up what you think Glasgow 2014 will be like in three words?

Unique, memorable, fun!
