Matthew Hares from Kenilworth, Warwickshire.

Are people in Kenilworth excited about Glasgow 2014?

Not Sure about Kenilworth but all my friends and family are excited about my volunteering adventure.

What Clyde-sider role have you been offered?

Print Distribution Team Leader.

Where will you be based?

Hampden Park for the Athletics.

What are you most looking forward to about your role?

Being part of a team that delivers the results of the event to the world and helping to make the event a success.

What's been your favourite thing about training so far?

Just being at the Emirates Arena made it feel so real and the buzz of all the other clyde-siders got me more excited. And the uniform looks cool. Can’t wait for my next training session. 

Why did you want to be a clyde-sider in the first place?

To meet new people and to help leave a legacy of sport and volunteer in Glasgow and to continue my amazing volunteering story!

Have you visited Glasgow before? If so what’s your favourite thing about the city? 

My first visit to Glasgow was when I came up for my Interview. My opinion was it a friendly city with lots to do. I can’t wait to be part of the atmosphere in the summer.

If you won a Gold medal, what would your celebration song be?

Ego by The Saturdays.
