Feature

What’s your name and where are you from?

Steve Everett, from King’s Lynn.

Are people in King’s Lynn excited about Glasgow 2014?

The buzz from the Olympics is starting to be replaced by the excitement of the Commonwealth Games. The Queen's Baton will pass very close to us when it passes through England on its final stages to be opened in Glasgow at the Opening Ceremony on 23 July.

What clyde-sider role have you been offered?

Team Member Venue Operations.

Where will you be based?

Scotstoun Sports Campus.

What are you most looking forward to about your role?

Meeting new friends, enjoying myself and learning about new sport.

Why did you want to be a clyde-sider in the first place?

I was a London 2012 Gamesmaker and ‘caught’ the Volunteering bug and have never looked back. I wanted to volunteer at one of the friendliest and most exciting places to be this summer!

Have you visited Glasgow before? If so what’s your favourite thing about the city?

I am looking forward to meeting lots of new friends and exploring the many cultural and historic places.

If you won a gold medal, what would your celebration song be?

Paradise by Coldplay.

Can you sum up what you think Glasgow 2014 will be like in 3 words?

Exciting, Friendly, Fantastico!!
