See poetry become part of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games when Q-POETICS pops up in places where people line up to pay, play or pass.
When the Commonwealth Games takes over Glasgow from 23 July– 3 August, Q-POETICS will install poetry in places of waiting all over the city – through innovative visual and audio installations, performance poems, and podcasts which can be downloaded whilst you queue.
Part of the Festival 2014 programme, Q-POETICS has also recently been performed at the opening of the iconic Kelpies at The Helix, and the Sydney Writers’ Festival 2013.
Q-POETICS emerged from lead artist Skye Loneragan’s fascination with how often we find ourselves in places and spaces of waiting. A Sydney Poetry Prize winner, Skye’s theatre work began with the Edinburgh Fringe’s award-winning ‘Cracked’ and has close affiliations with The Arches in Glasgow.
You can read more about Skye and Q-POETICS on the Q-POETICS website. Check out Skye’s work for yourself by watching the video below.
