The Tin Forest comes to life
Inspired by the bestselling book of the same name by Helen Ward and Wayne Anderson, and part of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme, The Tin Forest is one of the National Theatre of Scotland’s most ambitious projects to date.
The first phase of the project has seen creative artists reaching out across the city, harvesting stories of the city’s industrial past.
In the next phase of the project, the collected stories will find their way into the narrative of four large-scale site-specific theatrical events, to take place in each of the four communities across the month of June. Tickets will be on sale soon…
Glasgow continues to reinvent itself from industrial powerhouse of the past, to the creative 21st century city that will host this year’s Commonwealth Games.
Participants have swapped wishes with a singing rag and bone man, planted light-up lanterns and made wishes, created loco-inspired soundscapes and written a song about an unfortunate sausage and a scheming crow...
The Tin Forrest will russle to life during the build up to the XX Commonwealth Games and be a part of Glasgow 2014 until August.
