Barbados replace Nigeria in Rugby Sevens competition

A Glasgow 2014 spokesperson said:

“We have received formal confirmation that Nigeria has withdrawn from the Rugby Sevens Competition at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

“We have worked closely with the IRB and the CGF to identify a replacement and can now confirm Barbados have accepted the invitation to participate in the Rugby Sevens competition. The draw will be unchanged with Barbados fulfilling Nigeria’s fixtures in Pool A.

“We are delighted to welcome the Barbados rugby athletes for what is a fantastic opportunity for them to be part of a world class field.”

For information: Nigeria’s participation in other Glasgow 2014 sports is unaffected.
