- Rangers FC moved from Kinning Park to the first Ibrox Park in 1887. The present Ibrox Stadium was opened nearby in 1899.
- King George V visited Ibrox in 1917 to award honours, including knighthoods and war medals, at an open air public investiture. It was the first time this had happened in Scotland since 1603.
