Tollcross International Swimming Centre
Owned by Glasgow City Council, the Tollcross International
Swimming Centre will play host to The Glasgow 2014
Commonwealth Games’ swimming competitions. With an existing
50-metre x 10 lane pool, the facilities are being extensively
refurbished, and a second 50-metre x six-lane warm-up and training
pool. These developments will provide a permanent training and
recreational facility for the local community and elite athletes
alike, as well as continue to serve as a site for other major
international swimming competition. The existing pool has 1,000
spectator seats.
An additional 1,000 permanent viewing seats will be added as
part of the extension and at Games time 3,000 temporary seats will
be provided bringing the total spectator capacity up to 5,000.
