SO WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Before tickets go on general public sale, there will be an exclusive opportunity for all existing ticketing applicants to purchase any remaining tickets. All tickets will be immediately available for sale on a first-come, first-served basis on the official Glasgow 2014 Ticketing website or the Glasgow 2014 Ticket Hotline.
HOW DOES THE EXCLUSIVE ON SALE PERIOD WORK FOR EXISTING APPLICANTS?
The on sale period will run from 10.00 Monday, 21 October to 18.00 Saturday 26 October, with the first two days – Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 - dedicated exclusively to those who received no tickets from their application.
From 10.00 Wednesday 23 October applicants who received some of their requested tickets in the application period will also be able to access the Ticketing website. From 10.00 Friday 25 to 18.00 Saturday 26 October everyone who applied for tickets will have an exclusive second chance to top-up their ticket account before all remaining tickets go on general public sale.
HOW CAN I PURCHASE TICKETS DURING THIS EXCLUSIVE ON SALE PERIOD?
Tickets will be available online via the Glasgow 2014 Ticketing website tickets.glasgow2014.com or via the Glasgow 2014 Ticket Hotline 0844 826 2014 (Select option 1), open 24 hours a day. Calls cost 5p per minute from a BT landline. Other networks may vary. Callers from outside the UK should call +44 (0) 141 387 2014.
WILL THERE BE ANY NEW TICKETS AVAILABLE DURING THIS EXCLUSIVE ON SALE PERIOD?
No, the tickets available are those that remain from the initial application period.
DO TICKET LIMITS STILL APPLY DURING THE EXCLUSIVE ON SALE PERIOD?
The same ticket limits for each session will apply during the exclusive on sale period.
CAN PEOPLE APPLY FOR DIFFERENT SPORTS IN THE EXCLUSIVE ON SALE PERIOD OR DOES IT HAVE TO BE THE SAME AS THE FIRST APPLICATION?
Customers in the exclusive on sale period can apply for sessions in any of the sports where tickets are available, as long as they do not exceed the ticket limits. They do not have to be the same Sports from their first application.
WHEN WILL TICKETS GO BACK ON GENERAL SALE FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT ALREADY APPLIED?
Further ticket announcements will be made in soon. Any general public sale will be after the exclusive on sale period.
WHY WAS MY APPLICATION UNSUCCESSFUL YET THERE ARE TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR THE SPORT?
We received an overwhelming number of requests for tickets and a number of price categories, sessions and sports were oversubscribed. It is possible that the session and price that you applied for had more requests then tickets available, however other sessions and prices for the same sport may have tickets remaining. Tickets will be available on a first come first served basis.
WHY WAS I UNSUCCESSFUL IN THE DRAW BUT OTHERS RECEIVED SEVERAL TICKETS?
If you received no tickets, you were unlucky in the fair, simple draw for the high-demand session(s) you applied for. Other applicants either chose lower-demand sessions/price categories or were successful in the draw.
WHEN WILL GLASGOW 2014 START TAKING MONEY FROM SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS?
Glasgow 2014 will begin taking payments for tickets from Tuesday 1 October. Customers will be advised in advance how much money will be taken from their account.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS DON'T HAVE ENOUGH FUNDS IN THEIR ACCOUNT?
For all failed payments, a second attempt will be automatically made and should payment fail a second time we will contact the customer via email to advise them to call the Ticketing Customer Service Team before Friday 11 October to provide alternative/new payment details.
In the event that there are still accounts that are unpaid or the customer’s payment has failed again, all these tickets will be cancelled ready for next the phase of ticketing.
WHAT HAPPENS IF MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC HAVE APPLIED FOR MORE TICKETS THAN THEY ACTUALLY WANT?
Glasgow 2014 has communicated from the start that if people were successful with their ticket applications, they will be charged for the tickets they have applied for.
The Organising Committee stressed that people should consider carefully when applying for tickets and that once the application is processed you cannot cancel, change or return your tickets.
IF PEOPLE NO LONGER WANT THE TICKETS THEY HAVE APPLIED FOR, CAN THEY SELL THEM?
Should sessions sell out Glasgow 2014 may open an official ticket resale platform in 2014. This will be the only authorised way to buy tickets from people offering their tickets for resale. Further details regarding ticket resale will be announced in 2014

CAN GLASGOW 2014 HELP ME FIND ACCOMMODATION DURING GAMES TIME?
Accommodation during Games time is provided by individual establishments, and isn’t managed or controlled by Glasgow 2014. Although it might be common practice for accommodation providers not to offer discounted or promotional rates during exceptionally busy times, previous Games experience has shown that rooms are likely to become available closer to the Games as room blocks held by companies and websites are released.
Remember too that Glasgow is served by an excellent rail network and so a more immediate option may be to consider exploring accommodation options outside of the city centre and in nearby locations. Should you need advice on this or still be searching for accommodation, please check out VisitScotland.
